DESCRIPTION:Hills Men’s Shed aims to provide a unique\, safe\, supportive\, sharing environment for men\, living around Cockatoo.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Hills Men’s Shed (HMS) is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am until 4 pm with Wednesday from 1 pm – 4 pm being a social afternoon.\n\n\n\nHMS will provide men with the opportunity to receive social support and develop a range of skills\, competencies and renewed confidence and independence in order to lead healthy and happy lives within their community. This will be achieved through empowering and enabling men who may be employed\, unemployed\, retired or living with a disability\, to engage in a variety of social\, training and education opportunities\, and to adopt leadership and volunteer positions integral to the successful functioning of the shed.\n\n\n\nHMS is an incorporated association that commenced after considerable community consultation in 2008.\n\n\n\nHMS is supported by Cardinia Shire\, Cockatoo Neighbourhood House\, Cockatoo Township Committee\, Emerald Rotary Club\, MIND Australia and Monash Health.
